Doctors believe that morning meal is very important for maintaining health. Most often, the refusal of breakfast leads to the development of a number of diseases. How vascular diseases and morning food are related was studied by scientists from Japan
Previously conducted research has established that the refusal of breakfast can trigger an increase in cholesterol, an increase in pressure, as well as lead to weight gain and diabetes. Japanese scientists investigated the relationship between the risks of stroke and the habit of not having breakfast.
For the experiment, doctors scored a group consisting of more than 82 thousand volunteers of both women and men. Their age at the beginning of the study was from 44 to 74 years old, they were all healthy. Doctors observed a group of respondents for 15 years, after receiving information about their habits and dietary preferences. During this time, 3,772 volunteers survived a stroke, 1051 had a hemorrhagic stroke, and 870 people suffered from coronary heart disease. Statistics have shown that cardiovascular diseases predominantly manifested in those men and women who adhered to the habit of not having breakfast.
The researchers also found that patients experienced elevated pressure. According to scientists, hypertension is caused by the systematic refusal of breakfast. A group of people who prefer not to miss the morning meal, after breakfast, blood pressure indicators most often returned to normal, in contrast to those who adhered to the hungry regime before lunch.
Scientists can not unequivocally assert whether the absence of a feeling of hunger in the morning is the cause or consequence of cardiovascular diseases, but in any case they recommend not to refuse breakfast.
